SKIN LOVE

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that over the past few years, I’ve developed an increasing interest in taking care of my skin and as such an increased interest in skincare products. My affair with skincare is not altogether new, there’s years and years of archived blog posts here that showcase my shifting skincare faves and changing skincare concerns.

I do think now more than ever, likely cos I’m getting older and in the latter part of my 30’s, I’m focused on finding not just the specific products, but more importantly the specific ingredients my skincare needs. So from Vitamin C, to Hyaluronic Acid and everything in between.

Over the course of my partnerships with Walmart (now well over a year), I’ve realized that they truly do offer an impressive array of beauty products. What I enjoy the most is the convenience, affordability, assortment (from their own offerings of clean skincare to the highest tiers of pharmaceutical and dermatological offerings) and confidence I can have by purchasing from them.

So here’s a quick primer on the ingredients on rotation. I did put retinol on hold while I breastfeed, but I am sharing my selections just so you have it.

Vitamin C:
1. repair skin damage – like hyperpigmentation and sun damage
2. brightens skin and helps fade dark spots
3. Improves skins texture

Retinol: this stimulates skin cell turnover – a natural process that reduces as we age and as a result of this it
1. helps fights aging
2. Improves skin tone
3. help clear acne

Hyaluronic Acid:
1. Hydration, hydration, hydration for your skin
2. Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
3. Improves sagging skin tone by improving elasticity

Mindful Beauty: and if you’re on a mission for products that are organic, non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free, sustainable or just overall trying to even so slightly clean up your routine, there are plenty options too that really work without breaking the bank.
