Around Town: NEW AMSTERDAM MARKET

In the summer months, I find that I can actually take in all this city has to offer
Being originally from a warm weather country, I tend to pretty much just hibernate all winter.
This past weekend was perfect for some alone time in the city.
I promise you, you have to try it.
Just some time by yourself walking around, at your pace.
It’s so very necessary for the soul.
So, this past weekend, I grabbed my camera and headed to New Amsterdam Market:

Right by South Street Seaport, its a welcome escape from the more touristy trappings and shops you find at the actual seaport.
Farm fresh produce, organic, the best ingredients.
I couldn’t help myself, I bought almost everything from everyone.
I need MORE DISCIPLINE.
Well here are my Top 10 in pics.

1. PIE CORPS.: Pie pops, ham and cheese pockets, quiches and more.

2.  First Field ketchup: not your everyday Ketchup

3.  Anarchy in a Jar: picked up Ginger Pear and Lime & Pandan Marmalade.

 4.  Runner and Stone: Yum Pastries

5.  Sullivan Street Bakery: Best in Breads

6.  HOT BREAD KITCHEN: Breads of the world; Polish, Moroccan…

7.  Luke’s Lobster

8. People’s Pops: Their rhubharb shaved ice was all the refreshment I needed.

9.  Pushcart Coffee: Don’t drink coffee but loved their cute pushcart.

10.  Last but not least, the entire scene… ALL OF IT.

Have you taken a Solitary day?
What do you do?

I use to work at the South Street Seaport as a teen while attending high school. There is so much I miss about NYC 😉
