It’s been a while since I did a brunch review. I only just noticed that we don’t do as much brunching during the colder months. As the weather gets better, I’ll be checking out a bunch of new spots, but it was nice to get back to things with an old faithful spot: Buttermilk Channel.
This had to be the first time ever that we got seated as soon as we got there. There was an hour and a half wait for inside but it really wasn’t that chilly, so we and a few other brave souls (it really wasn’t that cold) chose to sit outside.
My company wanted the chicken and waffles but the menu had changes and it had been replaced with the grilled pork and waffles. That to me felt like a risky choice. And because I’m as adventurous as can be, I went with a short stack of pancakes with a side of their homemade sausage.
Service was quick, maybe too quick, cos my pancakes that I couldn’t wait to dig into were not quite cooked. They were really nice and got me a perfect stack very quickly and they were just as tasty as ever. Surprisingly, I couldn’t keep my fork away from the grilled pork and waffles. I’m not a big pork girl but they sure did know how to season those things and it was moist and tender, not dry as I feared.
The best meals are about company, food and people watching. And this one was all in all a success. I would return more often, but I promised myself to venture out and try some new spots. If you haven’t been, I really recommend. Just be forewarned, if you get there after 11.30-ish, be prepared for a wait.
Cyn, I got my sister addicted (pun intended) to your blog and when I mean addicted, I mean massively addicted. She also went to Saker too (form 1 to 5).
