RENEWED & REFRESHED

This post is sponsored by Ulta, Philosophy, and ShopStyle. All opinions expressed are my own.

When I was approached to consider the act of self-care in the context of skincare, I actually had to take a minute to think. The thing is, I resisted for much too long the entire notion of self-care, I let myself worry, let myself think that it was overly self-indulgent and overly self-absorbed to make myself, my mental and emotional health a priority. But I’ve let go of all that, and I’m allowing myself to put myself first and I encourage you to do the same.

There are so many ways to do this, big and small. And to be honest, the small easy ways sometimes end up having the most powerful effect.

Now, I don’t claim to be the expert on self-care and I won’t make it seem like I have it all figured out. But I do want to say that I for one, am happy that I now have some very simple things to look forward to daily. And those simple things include small changes like refreshing my skincare routine.

Seriously, stop what you’re doing. When was the last time you switched up your skincare routine or your skincare products? When was the last time you really took all your time, slow movements in cleansing, moisturizing and treating your skin? When was the last time you scrutinized your products and ditched the things you use that have made zero difference in how your skin feels or looks?

Most of us get stuck in a rut and a routine and we don't even know why. Self-care isn’t just the act of pampering yourself, it’s an actual proactive, intentional act to do something truly of value for yourself.

So here’s a quick recap of my little experience, switching things up, taking a little time with a brand I’ve known for ever, but who just like me, decided to do a little reset.

Most of you are familiar with Philosophy, the wellbeing beauty brand that has harnessed science to transform skin. They have partnered with Ulta Beauty to offer their Renewed Hope Collection, featuring their Renewed Hope in a Jar Water Cream,Peeling Mouse, and Renewing Dew Concentrate. The collection is 30% off right now until Saturday, 6/20! So here’s how I experienced them:

Renewed Hope in a Jar Water Cream: The reviews on this one are perfectly aligned with the clinical results and I have to join the chorus. This Water cream is just that - packed with water in the form of hyaluronic acid. You literally have to apply this to your face to immediately feel the difference, to feel the moisture and your skin thanking you for quenching it’s thirst. The Water Cream increases skin hydration by 86%. For me, nothing beats the feeling of smooth and perfectly refreshed skin,

Renewed Hope in a Jar Peeling Mousse: I’ve let a combination of joy and worry get to me and it’s starting to show across my forehead and along the sides of my mouth. Which means I was ready for this 1 minute to glowing skin remedy. I’m a sucker for ingredients which is why I was happy to see that this mousse is made with cornflower extract, hazel water and pineapple fruit extract- all the good stuff. In just one minute, you peel off dry, flaky skin for a much more polished and glowy completion and yes even those lines look like they’ve softened a tad.

Renewing Dew Concentrate: When most people talk about their skin and skin care issues, the most popular skin concerns include wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, skin texture and dull skin. This concentrate works at addressing all those issues in the most concentrated manner. Just one drop of this and in a mere matter of weeks, you’ll experience smoother, more hydrated and as such more radiant skin. It’s definitely easy to get hooked on this one. I just love how soft my skin feels the morning after and that’s good enough for me.

So do you have any new self-care routines, you’d like to share?
