20 days of reading

If you even glimpsed at my Goodreads (think a facebook for bookworms), it would appear that I have completely stopped reading books. The reason is quite simple actually, I've been reading other material. I don't know if I've mentionned it here, but I've been in business school nights (my poor mum thought law school would be the end of it, but I had an excellent opportunity to take some classes and broaden my horizons- you don't say no to that) and there's been no time for leisurely reading.

Zadie

For the first time since August of last year, I have a little over a 20 day break to catch up on my choice of reading. In an ideal world Zadie Smith's highly anticipated book NW would be out already (release date September 4).  I love love loved White Teeth and am really excited about this new tale of four Londoners trying to make their lives out of the council estates they grew up in.

But you know whats been really fun? I started reading Game of Thrones during my train rides and now I can finally finish it. You don't have to be a fan of the show to appreciate it, although its amazing just how faithful the show is to the book when you read it. I'm really happy I  fell for the show cos I can admit I really didn't read fantasy novels. It's good to try something you wouldn't normally try and bonus points when it turns out to be Oh-So-Good.
