Finding History

Probably my most personal find yet.  Growing up in Cameroon (West Africa), we learned in hsitory class about the scramble for Africa. We read about the first foreigners (the Portuguese) on Cameroonian soil. We studied the period of German rule, followed by the British and the Germans. We walked past old German colonial buildings and remnants of that time.

1895 Antique map of Cameroon (spelled Kamerun under German colonial rule) by bananastrudel  $15

This is however the first time I have seen anything like this.  This wasn't printed in any of our textbooks and if I was then I must not have been paying attention.  Can't wait to show my mum this and to sit with a magnifying glass and go over just how much the country has changed, borders and all.  I can already see that the map has the names of several of the different tribes and villages. It appears to be quite detailed.   Very cool, seeing history this way.
