HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE - 1 OF 2

This year, like most years, I’ve selected a few of my fave things for my holiday gift guide. These could be gifts for yourself (don’t ever forget yourself) or for those nearest and dearest to you.

I’m sure you’ve been flooded with so very many options, so I’m working on simplifying that for you, by highlighting items in different categories at different price points. The categories are: beauty (hair/skin), jewelry/accessories, tech, apparel, books, travel, and food.

Tech: Acer Swift 7

The Acer Swift 7: I received this laptop earlier in the year, and after close to 6 months of use, I can say it has become the most used piece of tech I own. The combination of good design, super-fast processing speed, and how lightweight it is, means that I grab it every time I’m on the run, or traveling, which has happened so very much lately. I have to admit—I used to live in only a Mac-only world due to my phone. But the Swift 7 was so easy to learn, this was such a quick learn and I realized that there are there’s so many things that I do on it seamlessly. Reasons I think it’s a great gift: So much tech at an amazing price point. I can’t get over how well designed and thin this machine is. I also have to admit that although I love my Swift 7, I have been eyeing the Spin 5, which offers additional functionality and can be used as both a tablet and a laptop. You can’t go wrong with either—just keep in mind what you’re really looking for and what you or the gift receiver would use this for.

Beauty: Panacea SkinCare

I normally don't spend much on facial cleansers, never saw the point. That is until I got the Panacea cleanser as part of a swag bag from Away. I literally washed my face and then ran to google the company. My face had never felt so fresh and clean but not in a harsh stripped kind of way- just in a wow, why does my skin feel so good. The best part is how a tiny, and I do mean tiny bit goes a long way. It takes off every lick of makeup and best part, it is sulfate-free, with Hyaluronic Acid for moisture. It is for this reason that I think it makes a great gift. I'd recommend the Essentials kit - which is cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. It's not something most people would get for themselves, but it's something they would so appreciate. They might be mad that you got them hooked on this. P.S. It's unisex.

JEWELRY: SIKAA - Motherland Collection

I discovered this brand (Sikaa means Gold) on Instagram, which is where I discover so many new things these days. I am a fan of their journey and I do think their motherland collection would make a great gift of jewelry. Their pieces are gold filled, gold plated and with bronze and brass.

ART: Brooklyn Dolly Prints

I just love Brooklyn Dolly's work and I can't wait to have a bigger space to showcase these pieces. There's something about every piece that speaks to me.

BOOKS: Too many to choose from

Books are always a great idea and 2018 was a great year for books- books on the immigrant experience, on feminism, on fantasy and everything in between. There is something for everyone- there's nothing better you can give at such an affordable price point.
