ONE WORLD

As I sat down to prepare blog posts for the week, mostly focused on my recent travels to Istanbul, it felt somehow wrong to not address what has happened over the past few.

There’s so much I want to say, so much of which could not be adequately covered here. I will say that over the past year we have seen some of the worst in humanity- from incidents in Kenya to Beirut, to Syria, to Paris and so many other places in between.  I won’t go into the details of what I think should happen to people who have no regard for their fellow human beings, who use religion and God to defend their atrocious and hateful acts.  I won’t go into that.

I will instead speak of the amazing kindness and generosity I have seen in my life from people of all walks of life and faiths when I travel. That’s the humanity I want to focus on, those are the people that deserve our energies.  The terrorists can’t win. They will not make us fear each other, they will not make us hate each other.

I’ll be back later this week to share with you amazing tales from Turkey and about the people I met.
