WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO? TELL & WIN

This post is actually all due to blog reader Moraa who had some excellent music suggestions for me this week. It got me thinking, what else is out there that I’m missing. So the tables are turned. I’m excited to find out what you guys are listening to and the top recommendation will win a $25 iTunes giftcard to purchase what else, but some more music. This giveaway is not by rafflecopter as I plan on reading all the answers and the winner won’t be a random selection.

In the meanwhile, check out one of Moraa’s recommendation: Bells Atlas.

I've been listening to an a capella group called Pentatonix. They are awesome! Lots of poppy stuff and while they have no instruments, it's tough to call them "stripped down" because their sound is so full.

It's absolutely perfect and features Jill Scott, Brandy Jazmine Sullivan (yes she's still making music!!)
Lalah Hathaway and Malcolm Jamal Warner (THEO!!).

This album is just as amazing as Black Radio and trust me when I tell you, you'll leave it to run, no skipping tracks guaranteed!!

I've been listening to a lot of NPR lately, and the other day on World Cafe, they featured Basia Bulat, a singer songwriter with kind of a folksy feel, and plays just about every instrument there is–she played four in her 20 minute or so segment!

Currently loving Kwabs (aka Kwabena Adjepong; "Last Stand" and "Wilhelm Scream" cover…amazing), Raleigh Ritchie (see: "Stay Inside", "In Too Deep", "Overdose"; fun fact: he's on HBO's Game of Thrones!), Chronixx ("Here Comes Trouble" made me a fan), Canadian DJ Kaytranada ("At All" gives me life!) and TDE newcomer SZA (see: "Teen Spirit").

Not so new, but lately I've also been listening to Liam Bailey, Jamie Woon, Robert Glasper (Black Radio 1 & 2, to be specific), Laura Mvula, Lianne La Havas, Maverick Sabre, Delilah, Mikky Ekko, Quadron, Cocaine 80s (No ID, James Fauntleroy, Common and Jhene Aiko are the perfect hip hop collective) and John Newman. I think I might have gotten a little carried away. Woops! lol
